Six Romantic Weekend Getaways You Need to Visit

It’s easy to get in a rut in your relationship. Before you know it, every weekend revolves around your child’s soccer game, a Netflix movie and Chinese takeout. Think back to a time when you felt really close to your spouse. Chances are, your memory involves some vacation or time away. In fact, researchers have found a strong link between romantic getaways and a high level of marital satisfaction. So how do you keep that level of connection going?  It doesn’t have to be a special holiday like your birthday, anniversary, or Valentine’s Day to justify a small getaway..and it doesn’t have to break the bank, either.

Don’t have the time or the money for an extended vacation? Try one of these six romantic weekend getaway locations close to home.

This is a close-to-home option, taking you only about 50 miles north of Jacksonville. Two great lodging options are Elizabeth Pointe Lodge, an ocean front lodge with a cozy b&b feel or Omni Plantation at Amelia Island, a waterfront resort that is home to a beach front infinity pool, beach bon fires, various activities and tastings and several on-site restaurants. For dinner try the Verandah restaurant, on-site at the Omni, for an upscale but cozy seafood or steak dinner. Finish off your weekend with the amazing breakfast buffet with local cheese, meats, honey and jams, gluten free bread options and an omelet bar at Sunrise Café.
