Joseph Castronovo – Therapist in Jacksonville, FL

Hi, I’m Joseph – it’s great to meet you.
I know from personal experience how stressful life can feel at times, and how helpful it is to have someone be by your side in those moments. I have experience with anxiety, and seeking therapy was one of the most impactful things in my life. I’ve always had a deep desire to help others and be the one by their side in tough moments.
Whether it’s been comforting a friend, supporting my teammates, or being there for my family, I’ve always found purpose in showing up for those who could use someone by their side. Now, as a therapist, I’m honored to support clients in building greater self-understanding, resilience, and connection. I am fortunate to be part of a team at FTAJ that values personalized, integrative care.

Biography
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Flagler College and am currently pursuing my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Stetson University. In addition to my academic experiences, I competed in two collegiate sports. Balancing athletics with academics taught me discipline, resilience, accountability, teamwork, and the importance of maintaining strong interpersonal relationships under pressure. I’ve been an Assistant Basketball Coach, that required communication, motivation, accountability, and emotional support from myself. Additionally, my volunteer experience working with mentally disabled children through Cornelius Park and Recreation helped strengthen my understanding, empathy, care, and ability to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds. These experiences helped shape who I am today and gave me unique qualities. Qualities that I believe are essential in the counseling profession.
Outside of work, I enjoy running, reading, working out, spending time at the beach, and relaxing with my friends.
NOTE: Joseph is acquiring the clinical hours required to complete a mental health counseling degree and is under supervision provided by Ida Holem.
