Sam Andrew – Therapist in Jacksonville, FL

For over a decade, I’ve worked in the wellness and mobility field, supporting older adults, individuals recovering from neurological injury, and athletes. Watching how deeply the body and mind influence one another naturally drew me toward helping people navigate the mental and emotional barriers that keep them stuck — and toward pursuing this new path as a therapist.
Now, as a student clinician working toward my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of the Cumberlands, I bring that same whole-person perspective into my work. I believe growth happens when people feel truly seen, and I aim to create a space where clients feel comfortable exploring what’s underneath the surface, whether that is anxiety, a difficult transition, or a pattern they’re ready to understand differently. I will always show up curious and committed to each client’s process.

Biography
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from the University of North Georgia, where I first began exploring the science behind how our bodies and minds work together. My professional background includes over a decade in the wellness space, where I’ve worked in clinical research and exercise physiology. That experience gave me a front-row seat to the powerful connection between physical and mental health, and it continues to inform how I approach therapy with a curiosity about the whole person, not just the presenting concern.
I am dedicated to creating a supportive environment where clients feel empowered to pursue meaningful and lasting change, and I aim to serve as a resource for those moving through life’s transitions, big or small, as they discover their own strengths and values.
Outside of work, you can usually find me in a dance class, on the beach with my dog, or connecting with friends and family.
NOTE: Sam Andrew is acquiring the clinical hours required to complete a mental health counseling degree and is under supervision provided by Ida Holem.
